Culture Galore: Joo Chiat and Chinatown

Hey guys!

I noticed that this blog lacks current affairs. Current affairs about me. Meaning, all the recent posts are actually about stuff that are not recent at all. Hence I looked through my folders and folders of photos and realised...hey. My life hasn't been all about school and there are actually things that are blog-able!

At the end of January, I attended a street photography workshop. The location was based in Joo Chiat, and I had a great (albeit short) time walking (or rather, rushing) around Joo Chiat. There were many interesting architecture, and I will definitely go back and spend more time there photographing.

The whole stretch of street was filled with these houses!

So pretty gahh.
Really loving the blue!

Isn't this the cutest house?

White wall with peeling paint with green plants. It's a yes from me.

As we were leaving Marine Parade Community Centre, we decided to head to the open roof. And we caught the sunset/blue hour! The blue tone in the photos was so pretty! And with the strong wind and our windswept hair, we felt pretty Tumblr. Though Juliana would say otherwise but yeah.

And a week ago, I went to Chinatown with my school's photography club to do some night photography. The crowd was terrifying on a Friday night, especially since it was nearing Chinese New Year. It was rather challenging, just like the other night shoots as I had to shoot in full manual. And I challenged myself to using the 50mm only, unless I was shooting the cityscape. Nevertheless, it was rather enjoyable. We even found a vantage point to have a good view of Chinatown!

My fellow photographers!

Goat!
Hawthorn Sticks!

Taking photos like this using a 50mm on a cropped censor all by yourself aka risking dislocating my arm

And that's it for this post! Hope you guys will have a wonderful day/night, wherever you are!
