Throwback to August

Hey guys.

I'm terrible at updating this blog. Really am.

I've been on semester break since the end of November, however I really haven't been doing much this holidays, hence the lack of update. Okay actually I'm in the midst of making a video, however, I haven't found time to go out and shoot more footages, since I've been attending choir practices thrice a week, and a general laziness to lug my DSLR around.

I found these photos lying around on my Desktop (as I was doing my end-of-semester spring cleaning; making space for the new modules in the upcoming semester) that were supposed to be posted in August, when I went on various food adventures. As I've already edited the photos, I thought I should still post them though they're 4 months late HAHAHA.

Cheesecakes from Tian Kee & Co. A first one was a bit too sweet for my liking. Personally preferred the second one, as it is made from yoghurt. :)

Refuel Cafe! Really liked the interior of the place. Didn't order anything to eat there as I already had ramen before meeting the pals.

Brawns & Brains! Really really loved the cheese on eggs. And the generous serving of avocadoes. Only downside is that it is quite unaccessible for me. :(

All rightttt that's all for this post! I should probably finished the video soon; I'm actually quite excited to see the finished product huhuhu.

See y'all soon!

Korea Video Dairy - Part 2

Hey guys!

So...finally! Here's the second (and final) video diary of South Korea.

And yeah I've been AWOL and been neglecting my blog for a looong while. So here's a little update on my life. I'm currently at the last leg of my first semester at uni - revision for final exams. While at the same time trying to finish a 3000-word essay as decent as possible. #toughlife

Anyway.

Going through the footage just reminds me of the time I spent in Korea. Of course not everything was captured on camera, but I tried to make this video as representative of my trip there as possible. Am really missing the place so much; can't wait to go back!

Hope you enjoy the video!

Around Telok Ayer

Wassup guys!

Recess Week is finally here! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this term: it's a one week break from school in the middle of the term, intended for you to take a break from all the stressful stuff and to relax and have fun. In reality, it's actually for you to 1. Catch up on your school work 2. Study for any upcoming tests/quizzes 3. Meet up with your project groups to do your reports and papers and 4. Do the 10000 readings in preparation for next week's classes.

Nevertheless, I'm so happy and thankful for this short "break" because uni has really been overwhelming. And before I plunge into studying once again, I thought I should revive this online space of mine.

Last week, I went to Telok Ayer with Juliana who had to do her fieldwork around the area. So I finally grabbed my dust-coated camera (because I haven't used it in ages) and decided to shoot some photos around the area, while experimenting with a slightly different style.

Aaaaand that's all for this short update. I kinda remembered that I said I was gonna upload more photos from my trip to Korea; I haven't forgotten about that. I'll probably also finish that post up during this week, before the hectic uni schedule starts again :/

Till the next time,
Elsa

Fireworks

This post is about half a month late, but it's better late than never right hehehe.

A little update in my life: I've started university!

It's been 2 weeks and I'm still trying to get used to everything. The way the classes are taught, how uni works, what activities I can participate in and the most important thing - how to juggle with the workload. And at the same time, getting my brain to work a lil harder after all the slacking in the past 8 months HAHAHA.

I'll keep the intro short because I'm procrastinating to put up this blog post (what's new; old habits die hard). Hope you enjoy the photos! This is my first time using a wired shutter release to take these long-exposure shots; and I must admit it's much more convenient (and reduces the camera movements by so much!) Am still getting used to using this awesome little gadget, and also I'm more inspired to take some long-exposure landscape shots now! That is, after I finish all my uni work and get myself a ND filter heh.

Oh yeah side note, the background this year is actually the Singapore Sports Hub (a change from all the previous years of the Marina Bay skyline) and also that was the first time where I actually dared to squeeze with the National Day crowd to take these photos!

All right, enough ramblings, time for the photos :)

Including this badly taken shot only to show the crazy amount of sparkles in the finale!
Congrats for scrolling all the way down!!! Here's a bonus shot - I took it during the Hari Raya season! Was still new to this whole night photography thing, and hence this is the only decent shot

A bag of popcorn for you guys who made it all the way to here! And this really is the end of this post.

Till the next time,
Elsa

The City, and all the others

City
/ˈsɪti/

A large town.

An area where many people live and work, with high density buildings, often characterised with modern skyscrapers; and sometimes featuring historical buildings, as seen in Seoul.

A lively, charismatic place that is always buzzing with people and activities, just as the saying goes "the city never sleeps".

And all the others:

The people, the nature, the floral and fauna, and us, the travellers.

Aaaaand that's the end of this series of themed posts! Hope you've enjoyed reading them as much as I've created them :)

Perhaps I'll write another post, with the goofier photos of us taken during the trip, to show you what happens behind the scene/the real-er and derpy-er side of the three of us HAHAHA. All right till then, have a great day wherever you are!
