Happy 50th, Singapore!

Happy 50th Birthday to this beautiful place that I call home. Your transformation over the past 50 years have been amazing, and I can't wait to see you continue prospering over the next 50, 100, so on and so forth.

Below are the photos taken during the rehearsal and the preview for National Day Parade. Fireworks photography is still something that I am trying to get a better grip of. As you can see below, my photos aren't the best. Moreover since I did not (and still don't) have a remote nor a wired shutter release, I had to rely on the timer and that made things more difficult than it already is.

Also, if you notice, there's this annoying black spot on practically all my photos. And that's the dirt that was on my sensor argh. I've noticed the dirt since last month, but only got it cleaned at the service centre a few days ago, after these photos were taken. Lesson learnt: always get your sensor cleaned as soon as you see dust/dirt. Because they do affect your photos. A lot.

All right, I'll stop all these talking/typing. I will also be uploading the photos of the aerial display soon, after I'm done editing and sorting them out.

Wishing everyone a Happy National Day! :)

Chasing Sunlight...and Bubbles?

It's currently 11.30pm on a Wednesday night as I'm typing this, while listening/singing along/occasionally dancing to Take Heart by The Sam Willows.

These photos were taken a few weeks ago. It was an impromptu decision for me to go to the neighbourhood park with my little sister to play with her bubbles, so I could take some photos at the same time.

What I did not expect was the golden hour that day. It has been so long since I've seen such a gorgeous and golden sunset, and that day I even had my camera with me, and my sister as a perfect little model!

I shall let the photos do the talking, for now.

Hope you like the photos! Some photos were slightly out of focus (due to the rubbish-ness of 50mm f1.8's autofocus in bright light :/), but I still like them and hence they're on here.

I'm not quite sure how often I'll be updating this space, as I have officially embarked on the journey of A Levels preparation. (I shouldn't be typing here, but since the Jubilee Weekend is upon us, I shall give myself a break. Though I'm always on breaks because hashtag lazy me.)

And that's the end of this post! (Yay for awkward endings.)

Stay tuned for a new post coming very, very soon,
Elsa :)
