December 2015

December seems to have flown past so quickly. In fact, 2015 has just been a blur. At the beginning of the year, I wasn’t really sure if I was looking forward to 2015, as it’s the A Levels year. But looking back, hey, I've conquered A Levels, and I hope I have spent 2015 meaningfully.

Instead of doing a typical "2015 in review" like what I had done last year, here's a short video, which includes some of the things I've done in December this year. Editing videos like this always brings a smile to my face, as memories of the happy times came back to me and I reminisce in those times that are impossible to recreate.

Without doing a "year in review" post, I actually can't quite remember what I've done over the past 12 months. However, I'm sure they have been full of joy, sadness, a mixture of different emotions and experiences.

Here's to a even greater 2016! Happy New Year everyone! :)

Nineteen

Birthday: the time of the year where you have to frantically change your age in the description/bio of every social media platform you own. And I admit I personally have not done that.

This year, Juliana, Min Hui and Xin Hui have attempted it again - tricking the not-so-gullible me. But not so successfully this time round. Juliana and Min Hui's plan of tricking me into thinking they would be overseas for my birthday foiled, and they kinda exposed themselves. (Here's an appropriate usage of the laugh cry emoji) So yeah. We decided to spend the day picnicking at Marina Barrage.

We played many many rounds of charades (apparently Min Hui and I are really good at that :), ate yummy food prepared by Min Hui and Juliana, had amazingly chilled/frozen drinks brought along by Xin Hui, and also had satays from the nearby Satay by the Bay. Also, no outing is complete without some fooling around and taking silly photos :) Here are some photos from the day:

P.S. It has been exactly 15 days since my birthday and 2 more days until the end of 2015. As I continue feeling overwhelmed about the fact that 2016 is approaching, I hope I can finish editing the December video diary so to conclude the year :) YES IT IS SO SURREAL THAT 2015 IS ENDING. And this is such an awkward ending idk I hope 2016 brings proper endings to blog posts.

National Gallery Singapore

Hello Internet Space!

I know I haven't posted anything in agessssss. But since now I've finished school and A Levels, I am finally reunited with my camera! Hopefully I'll be able to explore Singapore more, and learn even more about photography. :)

I have not touched my camera and the editing softwares in ages, and honestly speaking, I feel quite out of touch with everything. (You'll see in the following photos; it took me forever to edit them and yet I'm still not satisfied :/)

Anyway. I went to the newly opened National Gallery recently. National Gallery occupies two national monuments - the former Supreme Court and City Hall. I am so, so in love with the whole space and the architecture. However I have failed to capture the amazing architecture with my rusty photography skill (a return trip is a must!)

National Gallery has Southeast Asia's largest collection of modern art, and with the historical buildings where it is resided in, a visit to the Gallery is a must!

And also, this post consists of photos from my 2 trips to the Gallery, since I wasn't satisfied with my photos from the first visit haha. :)

And of course, no gallery/museum trip is complete without some photos of us fooling around (no we did not obstruct the public while taking these photos hehehe)

And that's all for this post!
Till the next time,
Elsa

EatPlayLove - First Cafe Experience!

HELLO THERE!

A lot has happened since the last time I updated this space: some intense studying took place; I had my last Teachers' Day Celebration in school, and attended Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration for the last time as a student; first time experiencing the haze situation; CHVRCHES's Every Open Eye and Gabrielle Aplin's Light Up The Dark were released (these 2 albums are really really good and I have been listening to them non-stop recently!) and lastly, had my last exams before the actual A Levels.

So while waiting to get back my papers, in these presumable marking days, I headed out (the haze never bothered me anyway) and went to a cafe for the first time in forever. (Oh the amount of Frozen reference.) And in the process, reconnecting with my DSLR which I have not touched for a month.

EatPlayLove Cafe is a craft cafe located at Aliwal Street, which is somewhere between Bugis MRT and Lavender MRT. It looks like a typical cafe from the outside, but once you step inside, you're transported into Tumblr-Land. The decor inside has all those Tumblr-like posters, lanterns, buntings, and pictures attached onto strings with wooden clips hanging by the windows. There's also places which you can do some crafting as well.

I got the Mac & Cheese Lunch Set Meal, which Xin Hui has been raving about. And the Mac & Cheese did live up to its expectations, with an abundance of cheese coating every piece of macaroni.

Photos below are all taken with my Canon 650D with 50mm f1.8, and edited on Lightroom. I hope you'll enjoy the post!
