Last day of the holidays.

First of all! Happy New Year everyone!!! :D

Some photos of the fireworks at Marina Bay. I can't say that these photos are great because there are many buildings obstructing the view. Plus all I had was a 18-55mm kit lens so yeah.

Today is the last day of my holidays and tomorrow, it will be the first day of Senior High for me. It is known as Junior College locally, and these are the last 2 years of school before university. I'm a teeny bit excited, but a bit scared at the same time because I heard that the workload is crazy and it'll be super stressful and busy. But I'll have a positive mindset because no matter how stressful school life gets, I'd rather be happy than to be sad all day :)

I wouldn't say I had a very fulfilling holiday. Academic-wise, all I did was the assignment that was given when school ended last year.I did not do any revision or strengthen my foundations in certain areas. And I kind of regret that as I'm not very strong in math :(

My travelling plans were cancelled (twice). Which was a bummer because I would looooove to go to somewhere cold and wear winter/autumn clothes. But thankfully it has been really rainy and the weather is relatively chilly recently. (When I mean it's chilly, it's like 24/25 degree Celsius and that is considered quite cold on this sunny island hehe.) So there's sort of a autumn-y feel, and of course I have to pull out my long-sleeve shirts and pretend that it's autumn. DON'T LAUGH AT ME OKAY. IT IS NORMAL GET PRETTY DESPERATE IN A PLACE WITH NO SEASONAL VARIATION :(

Since I didn't travel overseas, I went on "adventures" with my friends and many photo shoots. I completed my 52 Weeks project on Flickr, which is something I'm quite proud of :) Here's the link to the set of photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/_outofwater/sets/72157632439160299/

During the holidays, I went back to school for guitar practices practically every single week. At first I was really upset because hey, it's supposed to be my holidays and yet I'm still going back to school. But I'm glad I went for the practices, because I can play most of the pieces relatively well. I think I had made the right choice by joining guitar. Although dance is also my passion, I feel much more comfortable with the people in guitar. So yeah. I will not regret my decision and I will thrive to do my best in guitar :)

And I think that is basically a short summary of my end-of-year holidays. School starts in 9 hours' time and I'm gonna sleep now. :) And oh, I don't think I've mentioned this but I just started listening to London Grammar and I'm in love with them. Here's a video of their live performance and I strongly encourage you to listen to them!

Good night/morning/afternoon/evening everyone!

UK Trip 2013 - Part 2: Wales 3

(I'll try to keep this post as short as possible hehehe.)

On the third day, we went to different beaches to investigate the effect of longshore drift and to evaluate the usefulness of the coastal defences. Which means measuring beach profiles, doing both the qualitative and quantitative measurements of the pebbles and rocks. We went to Saundersfoot first to carry out the fieldwork. At lunch time, we had a nice little walk around the town.

Saundersfoot Bay! The magic of iPhone panorama haha.

Aren't the colourful houses so adorable? Haha. And oh the fact that the red mail box was out of focus (I shot with a small aperture and focused on the houses instead) is really bothering me so muchhh.

My friend and I shared a packet of Nuggets & Chips. They were really yummy and really oily. But hey, who cares about healthy diet or not when you're travelling! And yes, I didn't get Fish & Chips because I'm not really a big fan of fried fish filet haha.

We then continued our journey to the town Amroth, which was hit by a huge storm years ago. (If I remembered correctly on the information sheet) By the time it was in the afternoon and I was literally burning in my long-sleeve shirt.

Pebbles! But they were actually placed here by man to prevent erosion of the beach...not natural at all :(

I got bored.

These wooden structures slows down the erosion brought about by longshore drift :) I was quite excited to see them (weird, I know.) because you'll never find these in Singapore haha.

And that was basically Day 3 in Wales. After returning to the Field Studies Centre, I had my daily dosage of nature photo taking. Here are just some of them :)

Dandelionnnnnn.

Oh and one thing my friends and I do a lot in the late afternoon during our break time is to sit at the benches that are in front of the main house. And we'll just take out whatever food we had and share the food. It was sort of like a picnic, and Juliana and I would dance around (post-concert syndrome). We would also take photos, or simply just laze around and soak in the sun (it was getting chiller in the late afternoon hahaha) I miss those times so terribly :(

And yeah, this is the end of this relatively short post. Have a nice day everyone!

P.S. I think I'm the only person who blogs about her trip 6 months later.
